Techniques of Anulom Vilom Pranayama

Following Bahaya Pranayama we come to one of the most important Pranayamas – Anulom Vilom Pranayama as advised by Baba Ramdev. Along with Kapal Bharti Pranayama, Anulom Vilom Pranayama is very important for healthy living and may also be performed for the same duration of 15 minutes.

Fill your lungs with air. First close your right nostril with your thumb and take a deep breath in from your left. Then close your left nostril with your middle and ring fingers and exhale from your right. Now breathe in from your right nostril and breathe out from your left. Repeat for 15 minutes.

While performing Anulom Vilom Pranayama make sure you are sitting in upright posture, eyes are closed and with a calm state of mind. For receiving the most benefit from this ‘Pranayama’, we must do it with complete faith and dedication.

Again make sure you are filling in the air specifically in your lungs, only up to the diaphragm and not in your stomach. Slowly and steadily repeat it. Breathe in from your left nostril, breathe out from your right, then inhale from your right nostril and exhale from your left. Always start and end from your left nostril.
